ἐσχάτως, adverb, extremely (Xenophon, an. 2, 6, 1; Aristotle, others); ἐσχάτως ἔχειν (in extremis esse), to be in the last gasp, at the point of death: Mark 5:23. Diodorus excerpt Vales. p. 242 (i. e. from l. 10 § 2, 4 Dindorf); Artemidorus Daldianus, oneir. 3, 60. The phrase is censured by the Atticists; cf.
